Lori Carrion, Chief Executive Officer
Lori Carrion was appointed CEO of Panorama Meats in 2012. Since 2006, she has been part of the management team that led Panorama Meats to prominence as a leading branded beef company and the leading U.S. producer and marketer of organic grass-fed beef.
Prior to her appointment as CEO, she held the COO position. She was Vice President, Sales from 2006 to 2010. During her tenure, she has overseen sales, distribution, quality assurance and production departments at Panorama. She has also worked closely with Panorama ranchers, helping them navigate the USDA process to receive and maintain organic certification.
Lori is a proponent of responsible rangeland management to preserve grasslands, watersheds and wildlife habitats in harmony with cattle grazing. She has a unique perspective on the economics of small-scale organic, grass-fed cattle ranching in the U.S. through her work with the family ranchers who raise Panorama Organic Grass-Fed Beef.
Lori is personally involved in California’s agriculture community as President of the 4-H Yolo County Junior Livestock Auction Committee for 2013. She is also a long-time participant and supporter of California Waterfowl Association, an award-winning nonprofit, hunter-supported conservation organization with a mission to conserve the state’s waterfowl, wetlands and hunting heritage.
Mack Graves, Senior Advisor & Board Member
Mack has been involved in the food industry for more than 30 years. He was CEO of Panorama Meats from 2006 until 2011 and is now a trusted advisor to the company. He speaks nationally and internationally on meat and poultry marketing issues, with an emphasis on establishing consumer-trusted brands. He is recognized as an expert in the natural and organic meat and poultry industries.
Mack served as President and CEO of Coleman Natural Meats, Inc. during its transition from a family business to the largest natural beef company in the U.S. He also was interim CEO of Meyer Foods, producer of Meyer Natural Angus Beef.
He served on the Organic Trade Association’s Livestock Committee, which helped formulate protocols for raising, processing and marketing organic meat and poultry. He writes a monthly column, “Marketing Trends,” for the North American Meat Association’s Lean Trimmings newsletter. He holds Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Business Administration.
Wayne Langston, Vice President, Production
Langston conducts trainings and seminars for meat department managers and store personnel, manages the recruiting of ranchers for the Panorama Organic Grass-Fed Beef program and oversees rancher compliance with Panorama’s 100 percent grass-fed and grass-finished cattle-raising protocols. Langston is a director of the Lassen County Cattlemen’s Association and a past director of the California Shorthorn Association. He manages a registered Angus and Hereford cattle operation in Susanville, California. He has shown and judged cattle extensively throughout the U.S.
Rick Kingsbury, Production Manager, Rocky Mountain Region
Rick manages Panorama’s growing network of organic grass-fed beef ranchers in Colorado, New Mexico, Nebraska, Idaho, Wyoming and Montana. He most recently owned and operated Pecos Valley Grass Fed Beef near Santa Fe, N.M., which specialized in raising Scottish Highlander cattle to produce grass-fed beef for distribution to Farmer’s markets, high-end restaurants, and families across Northern New Mexico. He frequently lectures about the nutritional benefits of grass-fed products and is a recent past board member of the Southwest Grass-Fed Beef Alliance.
Janis Phillips, Processing & Distribution Manager
Janis plays an integral role in ensuring Panorama’s processors adhere to our rigorous safety protocols. She manages order fulfillment and all details related to processing and distribution. She also manages inventory and marketing programs, website and social media, product demonstrations and customer service. Janis has been with Panorama Meats for 3 yrs.
Brian Graves, Sales Representative
Brian Graves is a marketing and sales specialist who interfaces on a daily basis with Panorama retailers, distributors, further processors and food service customers to ensure superior customer service. He develops sales programs, establishes sales objectives and educates retailer sales teams about Panorama Grass-Fed Beef. Brian holds a B.S. in Marketing Metropolitan State College of Denver.
Darrell Wood, President, Rancher & Board Member
Darrell is a sixth-generation full-time rancher and owner of Leavitt Lake Ranches in Susanville and Vina, California. In 2001, he and his wife, Callie, began raising grass-fed cattle on their 40,000 acres of family-owned and leased rangelands in Northern California. As a co-founder of Panorama Meats, Darrell created environmental stewardship protocols that are now practiced by many of Panorama’s more than 50 family ranchers in nine states.
A national leader in rangeland preservation, Darrell was a founding member, 14-year board member and past president of the California Rangeland Trust. He also served as former chairman, past president and is currently a board member of the Partnership of Rangeland Trusts.
Darrell was honored for grassland stewardship by the Society for Range Management in 1999, received the 2010 California Beef Cattle Improvement Association’s Outstanding Seedstock and Commercial Producer of the Year Award, and won the 2009 National Environmental Stewardship Award from the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association.
He received one of three 2006 National Wetlands Conservation Awards from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Darrell also served as Vice President of the California Cattlemen’s Association and President of the Lassen County Cattleman’s Association.
Richard Stewart, Investor, Rancher & Chairman of the Board
Rich is an owner/partner of Pete’s Valley Cattle, a cow-calf operation near Woodland and a principal supplier to Panorama. Rich also is owner / partner of TS&L Seed Company, a distributor of vegetable and field seeds throughout the Western U.S. and Mexico.
Callie Wood, Investor, Rancher & Board Member
Callie is owner, with her husband Darrell, of Leavitt Lake Ranches in Susanville and Vina, California. She is also a principal in Shasta Livestock Auction and Western Video Market.
Rick Harrison, Investor, Rancher & Board Member
Rick is a partner in InterWest Insurance Services, which is one of the nation’s 50 largest retail insurance agencies. Rick is also owner/partner of Pete’s Valley Cattle in Northern California, which raises cattle for Panorama.
Tom Given, Investor & Board Member
Tom is a lawyer and writer in San Francisco. He joined the Panorama board of directors after the death of his partner, Bill Wilkinson, in 2010. He also sits on the board of Greenleaf Produce, which provides produce, cheese, olive oil and other food products to hotels and restaurants from St. Helena and Healdsburg to Big Sur.
Tom was trained as a writer at Stanford University and attended law school at U.C. Berkeley, and became a bankruptcy lawyer in San Francisco for over twenty years, where he was involved in a number of hotel and food industry cases. He continues to practice law part-time.
Carolyn Carey, Investor & Rancher
Carolyn is the owner of Carey Ranch near Alturas, Calif. and one of the founders of Western Ranchers Beef. She developed and trademarked the Born and Raised in the USA® labeling program, used on all Panorama products, which guarantees to consumers that beef is exclusively from cattle that have been raised in the U.S.
